AWNINGS
Heavy cloths used for shop blinds, garden tents, and chairs, etc. Widths vary from 26-in. up to 90-in. and over. Weave generally plain or 2 / 1 twill (see diagram A). Heavy yarns, 14's or 16's warp, 10's to 16's weft, in broad grey and colour stripes. Colours fast red or blue. A variety is made matting weave from doubled yarns and used for sports umbrellas, as shown in B (see Austrian Cloth)
